Bull Road Bridge Replacement Project over Fox Run Starts April 18
Harrisburg, PA – Construction for the Bull Road bridge spanning Fox Run at the Dover-Conewago-Manchester township line in York County will begin on Tuesday, April 18. The bridge will be closed to all traffic that day for a project to replace the existing structure with a new bridge. Bull Road is officially designated as State Route 4001. Motorists will be directed around the bridge closure by a detour utilizing Route 238 (Church Road), Greenbriar Road, and Route 921. The new bridge should open to traffic by early-to-mid July. In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from the list of structurally deficient bridges in York County. This bridge is referred to as JV-306 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project. The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.
